Have you read Angie Thomas’ The Hate U Give and Renee Watson’s Piecing Me Together?

Come join the Literacy Committee of the Boston Network for Black Student Achievement for our next gathering where we’ll talk about how to use these books in classrooms and book clubs with young adults, right in time for the upcoming school year!

You don’t have to read the books before the meeting, but you’ll have a more enriching experience if you can read them in advance. Books are available at a discount at Frugal Bookstore. These meetings are also great opportunities to chat with fellow community literacy activists, experts, parents, and families.

There will be time to share resources about other Black books for children and young adults, purchase books from the amazing collection at Frugal, and enjoy the general power of what happens when folks come together to talk about literature that reflects and extends our experiences.
