This free full day training is an introduction to the Solidarity Economy, a vision and practice to build an alternative to the capitalist economy.

Topics that will be covered include:

Understanding Capitalism: Land, Labor, Capital in the Extractive Economy;

Breaking down the rules of capitalism to understand what makes it tick, and why we must resist and transform it;

A Just Transition Movement for a Solidarity Economy: The role of social movements to Fight the Bad, Build the New, Move the Money and Change the Story;

Massachusetts Rising: Learn about emerging Solidarity Economy projects like the Ujima Project, Community Land Trusts, and Worker Co-ops taking root in our state, and explore new political, economic, and cultural strategies to uplift this growing movement
