The government in Washington has stepped up attacks on migrants to levels not seen in years. Trump’s attacks on Muslim migrants were only the beginning. Deportations are accelerating. Trump is terminating the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program and has pardoned the racist ex-sheriff Joe Arpaio. He also threatens to shut down the government if a Mexican border wall is not built. He now threatens the Temporary Protected Status program. This comes on top of his defense of Fascists in Charlottesville, NC and his recent bigoted executive order against transgender troops in the US armed forces. We must act now and build a fighting movement capable of defending ourselves as working people and youth against the general assault on our rights and living conditions. All working class communities are affected by the campaign against migrants. The repression against them is only a preview of the repression being prepared for the rest of us. Our rights and living conditions fall below an array of developed countries precisely because of the divisions we suffer caused by the systemic racism and xenophobia that continues today in the US. An injury to one is an injury to all. The time is NOW to take the fight to the centers of power. Join in the resistance! The Boston May Day Coalition is preparing to organize a Winter conference on Resisting Deportations and Defending our Communities.
