Families with kids ages 7 and up: Join us as best-selling children’s author (‘A is for Activist’) Innosanto Nagara shares his new picture book, ‘The Wedding Portrait,’ a celebration of protest that speaks to kids’ own sense of right and wrong and explores why — sometimes — we must break the rules.

‘The Wedding Portrait’ published by Triangle Square Books for Young Readers, features stories of direct action from around the world, framed by the author’s own wedding day story. In brilliant, inspiring illustrations we see ordinary people say No–to racism, to war, to destroying the environment.

This after-school event will feature a book-signing and a kid-powered workshop with Wee The People, a social justice project for kids that explores protest and activism through arts and interactive games.

Join us after school at Frugal Bookstore!
