In order to overcome trauma from normalized violence against queer and transgender bodies of color, we must maintain practices that cater to our mental, physical, and spiritual health. These self-care practices can also be acts of reclamation through which we access healing and empowerment. This workshop will allow us to discover the ways that writing can be used as a tool for healing and reclaiming our bodies.

The workshop is led by Black Venus (they/them/she/her), renaissance queer and community organizer, The Theater Offensive’s 2017 OUT’Hood Artist in Residence, and Assistant Director for True Colors Youth Theater Troupe. As a multidisciplinary artist born and raised in Boston, Black Venus uses art to provide space for healing, education, and liberation.
The location is wheelchair accessible and has gender neutral bathrooms.
