Mijente is a political home for Latinx organizers and activists that are parts of movements for justice and self-determination of all people. We are Pro-Black, pro-indigena, pro-worker, pro-mujer, pro-Queer, pro-Trans, pro-migrant.

One of Mijente’s Principles of Unity is that “transformative change requires more from us, not just more of us”, that is to say that in this political moment, with Black, brown, and immigrant communities being disproportionately and devastatingly feeling the impact of COVID-19 and police violence, it is imperative that we are guided by “pro-pueblo” principles, in our communities, and also in how we participate in elections.

The halls of the Commonwealth’s State House have not been welcoming of pro-pueblo voices. As part of our “desde el estado” work, Mijente members are aiming to change that.

Meet Damali Vidot, Chelsea City Councilor and candidate for State Rep 2nd Suffolk (Chelsea, Charlestown) and Marianela Rivera, former school committeewoman and school physical therapist and candidate for Essex 17th (Lawrence, Andover, Methuen).

Mijente members and supporters are invited to come meet the candidates, ask questions as part of our endorsement process. Please RSVP using the link to receive the Zoom Invitation.
