Israel has occupied Palestine for 50 years. This occupation is considered illegal by the United Nations. Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch have thoroughly documented the human rights violations of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

The IDF upholds a system of segregation and discrimination that denies basic human rights to Palestinians. The crimes of the occupation include:

– unlawful killings
– forced displacement
– abusive detention
– unjustified restrictions on movement
– Israeli settlements and discriminatory policies that disadvantage Palestinians*

Israeli soldiers are coming to Northeastern Unversity on Nov. 2 as part of a speaking tour meant to distract from and whitewash Israel’s brutal treatment of Palestinians. November 2nd is the centenary of the Balfour Decleration, a decleration which helped set the stage for the colonization of Palestine.

Inviting the forces of an occupying army into our community is unacceptable. Come out on Thursday, Nov. 2 at 5pm to show solidarity with Palestinians struggling against Israeli aggression.

***This will be a peaceful demonstration on public property & will be wheelchair accessible.
