Rhode-Island Jobs with Justice is organizing a march and rally to celebrate International Workers Day.

Join the March as part of the climate justice and just transition bloc! We’ll be highlighting the urgency for strong climate action and the need to transition away from the fossil fuel economy in a way that protects and enhances worker and labor rights, and includes community involvement in policy decisions.

You can read more about just transition here:

And please take a moment to also RSVP to the main May Day event page here:

There are currently three major fossil fuel projects proposed for Rhode Island. Invenergy’s power plant proposed for Burrillville, National Grid’s LNG facility proposed for the south side of Providence and Spectra’s continued fracked-gas pipeline expansions.

At the same time the State is mandated to drastically reduce emissions and the Governor recently proposed adding 1000 GW of renewable energy to the grid.

Let’s fight for a just transition away from fossil fuels to a sustainable economy that benefits all working people!
