WriteBoston and Teens in Print are eager to announce our fall youth conference: Looking Back & Looking Forward: Writing to Defend Democracy.
We are bringing topical experts together with curious and passionate teenagers to participate in educative workshops, constructive open discussions and writing as a tool of empowerment. The event, which will include a deep-dive into three focused workshops – immigration, hate crimes, and journalism in an era of ‘fake news’ – will culminate in a powerful newspaper publication featuring the voices of Boston youth.
We invite high school students across the city, as well as teachers, youth-focused organizations, and parents to come together!
If you’re interested in partnering, a media sponsorship, or if you are a BPS teacher interested in getting your students involved, we’d love to hear from you!
Boston teens, register for free at our Eventbrite page, and Boston educators, youth organizers & community members, register your youth at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/looking-back-and-looking-forward-writing-to-defend-democracy-tickets-37422880844
