Join us for an evening workshop with Daniel Vargas, a Latinx facilitator, mentor, and lover of life from San Antonio, Texas and from the mixed-forest hills of Southern Missouri, and Trevanna Frost Grenfell, who has joyfully returned to the land of her birth here in Maine to co-found and direct Northwood Natural Learning and The Wildwood Path. Daniel and Trevanna will guide us in an exploration of how systems of oppression pervade our language, and how oppressive terms and phrases can sneak into our vocabulary without us even realizing it. In this workshop we will work on creating just, inclusive, and accessible language for our communities that moves beyond buzzwords and towards liberation.
This is a workshop for everyone– all ages, genders, levels of experience, and walks of life are welcome. The content will be geared towards adults but curious older children would likely benefit from joining the conversations and young ones are welcome to play quietly.
Donations are suggested in order to honor the facilitators for their work and to cover costs of hosting this event, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds!
