Join Black and Pink for our weeknight volunteer drop in in Jamaica Plain! Wednesdays, 7-9 pm (come and go) – at First Baptist Church (633 Centre St) in Jamaica Plain. Bring a laptop, if you can. If not, you can help write birthday cards!

Newbies and old hats welcome! Show up at 7 if you’re new-new so we can get everyone oriented at the same time; but feel free to come and go as you please. Please ring both doorbells if doors are locked 🙂

First Baptist Church is wheelchair accessible.

Black & Pink is an open family of LGBTQ prisoners and “free world” allies who support each other. Our work toward the abolition of the prison industrial complex is rooted in the experience of currently and formerly incarcerated people. We are outraged by the specific violence of the prison industrial complex against LGBTQ people, and respond through advocacy, education, direct service, and organizing

There are many things we can work on during volunteer drop in:

1) we can process the mail that we get from our incarcerated family in order to connect them with the resources we provide,

2) we can write cards and letters to our penpals or other incarcerated members,

3) and we can type up newspaper submissions from our incarcerated fam to help get their voices to other prisoners!

Come read prisoners’ letters, learn about their struggles, and help out the Black and Pink family!
