#DeeperThanWater will hold a press conference to publicly launch our campaign to hold the state accountable for the toxic water crisis in MA prisons.
We demand that the DOC and Commissioner Turco immediately provide all MA prisoners with free, clean, safe, and sufficient water within health standards. Until that is accomplished, they must provide all MA prisoners with 6 bottles of water per day, and back pay from January 2011 until the present for all water bought at commissary.
We will assemble outside Suffolk County House of Corrections (South Bay), 20 Bradston St., Boston, MA.
Speakers will include former prisoners of MCI Norfolk, who will brief us on the toxic water crisis as it has been documented there.
We’ll have banner and signs, as well as an art installation – a faucet of water droplets collected from our supports! We will turn the tide.
