We are hosting a free public screening of the documentary film Circle Up as part of Survivors of Homicide Victims Awareness Month (SHVAM). The film tells the story of a group of Boston mothers who seek true justice for their sons’ murders – justice that involves not revenge and mass incarceration but forgiveness, accountability, and community peace. www.circleupdoc.com
The 69-minute film will be followed by a community discussion facilitated by filmmaker Julie Mallozzi, film subjects Janet Connors and Clarissa Turner, and other survivors of homicide victims.
Event co-sponsored by the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute and the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center’s Center for Violence Prevention and Recovery.
