Welcome to Black and Pink PVD! Black & Pink is an open family of LGBTQ prisoners and “free world” allies who support each other. All new and returning members and allies are welcome to join for our bi-monthly mail processing hangout, which happens every first Sunday of the month from 6-8pm and every third Saturday of the month from 4-6PM. Stop by to hang out, learn more about Black and Pink, find and write to a pen pal or help us process mail recieved at Black & Pink’s national HQ from our incarcerated membership. We’ll bring some snacks, and please bring some to share if you’d like!

We will provide a training in mail processing and our online database. Bring a laptop if you can, we also have a few extra or you can work together with somene else.

PrYSM is on the 2nd floor up a flight of stairs and across the lobby at 669 Elmwood Ave (industrial building behind Dorcas International Instutue). It is easiest to get to from the 20 or 22 bus and there is parking in front of and up the hill to the right of the building. If you need a ride message us and we’ll see if we can set you up to carpool with a B&P member.

ABOLITION NOW

Black & Pink is an open family of LGBTQ prisoners and “free world” allies who support each other. Our work toward the abolition of the prison industrial complex is rooted in the experience of currently and formerly incarcerated people. We are outraged by the specific violence of the prison industrial complex against LGBTQ people, and respond through advocacy, education, direct service, and organizing.
